P3 TEA 2026
P3 Theatre Experience for All (TEA) Programme 2026
12 March 2026
On 12 March 2026, as part of our Theatre Experience for All (TEA) programme, the Primary 3 students attended Red Riding Hood, a lively production by Wild Rice. The performance took place in a small-scale theatre, allowing the students to experience professional theatre up close. The production was a delightful blend of storytelling, music, and comedy. The show featured original songs and dance numbers that kept the young audience thoroughly entertained. Despite just having three actors, two of the performers took on dual roles, switching between characters with remarkable speed and skill.
The performance showcased the many elements that bring a theatre production to life. Thoughtful lighting effects, colourful costumes, and carefully designed stage sets created a polished and engaging experience. The expressive singing and enthusiastic acting ensured that there was never a dull moment.
Beyond the entertainment, the play also carried meaningful messages. Through a modern retelling of the familiar fairy tale, themes such as being independent, being cautious of strangers, and not falling for scams were cleverly woven into the story. The production had a local Singaporean flavour as well as modern, pop-culture references which delighted the audience.
The actors inviting responses from the students added to the lively atmosphere. Compared to performances held in a school hall, the theatre setting made the experience especially memorable, as the students could see and hear the performers up close.
Overall, it was an engaging and enjoyable theatre experience that left the students smiling and talking excitedly long after the show ended.
