Chinese New Year 2026
Chinese New Year 2026
10 - 16 Feb 2026
The school ushered in the Chinese New Year with a series of fun and meaningful activities that engaged students across all levels. Over two days of recess activities, students created festive decorations and explored Chinese New Year traditions through interactive iPad learning. In the classrooms, students also participated in festive-themed activities. Primary 1 and 2 students coloured the twelve zodiac animals and created their own “Snap” game. Primary 3 and 4 students made red packets with a horse seal, while Primary 5 and 6 students practised their origami skills by making horses.
The celebrations culminated in the Chinese New Year concert on 16 February, which began with a lively play performed by the STAR CCA students. The audience enjoyed a variety of engaging segments, including a Chinese New Year montage, a segment where students learnt festive greetings for the Year of the Horse, and a fun interactive game involving both teachers and students.
The concert also featured performances by Primary 2 and 3 students, who delighted the audience with singing, dancing and an engaging fashion show. Our International Dance students further added to the festive atmosphere with a vibrant performance. In addition, teachers and students from Taipei Wenhua Elementary School shared recorded well-wishes, strengthening connections across borders.
The concert concluded on a joyful note with a mass dance finale, where everyone joined in the celebration. Through these activities, students not only developed creativity and teamwork but also gained a deeper appreciation of Chinese New Year traditions. The school community came together in laughter and cheer, welcoming the Year of the Horse with energy, unity and auspicious blessings.
