EL Week 2023 - Book Character Day
EL Week is an annual school event in St Margaret’s School (Primary) planned by the English Language Department for our students and teachers. Activities during the week aim to promote a love for English Language, and to celebrate creativity in the use of the medium through enriched experiences beyond the textbooks.
Back for the third year, EL Week 2023 was held from 25 to 27 January. Our students wrote Haikus about the books/characters they enjoyed and created props/accessories/costumes using recycled materials for Book Character Day. On 27 January, the finale of EL Week, everyone had a whale of a time playing the character that we dressed up as.
Read for Books 2023
School have received a token of appreciation from the NLB (National Library Board) for our participation in Read for Books 2023! Thank You to all teachers and students for your active involvement in the charity book drive. With our efforts, we donated about 125 books to the selected beneficiaries.
We would like to extend a special appreciation to the students and teachers of STAR who went above and beyond by providing emcees and having students dress up as book characters to read on stage. Your creative contributions added a unique and engaging dimension to the event.
Let us continue to nurture the love for reading among our girls! Remember, reading is not just a pastime; it’s a lifelong habit that enriches our lives in countless ways.
