P4 Level Camp and CPES (Cultural Performance Exposure Scheme)

Via the P4 level camp and CPES (Chinese Performance Exposure Scheme), the students are exposed to games and activities which are not usually taught in class. Through the camp activities, the students also learnt to relate to the school values (LIGHT) and awareness of one another’s cultures through multicultural games and activities.

The level camp activities include various cultural games and activities booth, such as Chinese drums, Main Lereng, Teng Teng, Tapak Kuda, Tou Quan Quan, Congkak, Chinese checkers, Aadu Puli Aattam, Chinese Tangram and Aankh Micholi game. Students also experienced learning simple moves of Chinese Wushu, such as Ti (kicking), Da (punching), Shuai (throwing), Na (controlling), Ji (hitting), Ci (thrusting), etc. Students were also exposed to the traditional Chinese folk dance culture where they tried Chinese ribbon/cloth dance moves. Students learnt about Dikir Barat where they experienced the style of Malay choral singing popular in Singapore and Malaysia, with a flexible format that incorporates singing, poetry, movement and music.
Under the CPES (Cultural Performance Exposure Scheme), CL students were able to experience real-life theatre performance of the popular story of Journey to the West, where they enjoyed the story being brought to life in the theatre by a professional theatre performing group.
