Introduction

Bowling in St. Margaret's Primary started in 2003, we have pupils from P3 - P6 taking part in this sport.

Objectives

  1. To introduce basic bowling techniques and skills drills so to improve the bowling, grips, stance, basic 4-steps approach, release, follow-through and targeting. Following that, is to build a competitive school bowling team capable of challenging for top honours in the Inter-School Bowling Championship.
  2. To build leadership and sportsmanship among the bowlers.
  3. To nurture girls of the character anchored on the values of Life-long learner, Integrity, Graciousness, Humility and Tenacity (LIGHT)

Coaches:  Mr Jerome Tan, Mr Roy Lau and Mr Eddy Low.
   

Target for 2018

To emerge as the Top 4 in the National Primary Schools Tenpin Championships for both Junior and Senior Divisions.


Activities Outline:


The CCA team trains once a week. The members are taught the basic skills and rules of the game. They will be able to play the game independently and some of the members will be selected to train in the school team in preparation for the National Inter-Primary Schools Tenpin Bowling Championships

We are pleased to announce that our junior team has emerged as overall champions and our senior team achieved 2nd placing. To the girls in the two teams - You have done SMPS proud! We would like to thank our girls, coaches and teachers for their hard work as well as parents and chaplain assistant for their wonderful support.
